My name is Jake , I come from the Uk but I wouldn't call it home. For 6 years of my life I have lived in Sri Lanka(an island just below India) and grown up there. Me and my family moved into Sri Lanka on my fourth birthday in 2003 and stayed all the way to my ninth birthday in 2009.
My three favourite things to do are playing football(soccer), Playing guitar and watching new movies. I hate taking walks watching tennis and getting mosquito bites.
I live at Ukay heights right at the top of the hill and we have lots of monkey trouble. Only a few days ago sneaked into my sisters room and stole her lip balm.
My dad works for the red cross a ngo that deals with natural disasters and my mum is a part time dyslexia specialist and a yoga teacher.I have one older sister called Jessie who i would call a real pain but sometimes we get along and have a chat. I think she'll work as a lawyer.
I don't believe in aliens but I try complimenting them in case of abduction and I do believe in sea monsters. There is scientific proof!
Now hopefully I have told you enough about myself and can move on to the rest of the blog.
Where do I start with books. From the beggining or the end. I have read books that could have been torture in a nazi jail and books that outrun movies.
My personal favourites that I have recently read are Wild Magic the true story of why the pied piper came to Hamelin, a magical tale that consists of all a book can have, Once you read this you'll believe that hills have doors. This great novel was written by Cat Weatherill.
Another great book I read was Shadow forest where a brother and sister travel to Norway to see there grandma who lives next to a dark forest where one wrong turn can mean death in this never ending tale by Matt Haig.
One of my personal favourites is georges marvelous medicine by Roal Dahl a story about a boy who is left at home with his mean old grandma. Only when he realises that his grandma takes a spoonfull of medicine every day a plan comes to mind.
As I said on the paragraph above I will tell you truthfully I love watching new movies. My favourite style of movie involves action, special effects, romance, a bit of a thrill, comedy and sometimes intresting neutral actors.
The most recent movie I have watched was The Last Air Bender which should deserve a defenite 6/10. I thought the plot was resonable the special effects were brilliant but the acting was very cheesy.
Now the best things about the movie were the special effects not to mension the setting. It was placed in a jungle a snow plain and a dark fortress which was much like earth in a magic way. The special effects were easily the best I have seen. It went from tidal waves to fire balls and even earth rising up to meet the sky.
The plot was that the avatar disapeared for 100 years then the fire tribe took over and the rest of the tribes are fighting back against the fire tribe. Alright movie.
Recently I have moved into middle school and I think that it took me by surprise. It is much funner then I thought but also very troubling with all the supplies I need. My one acedemic goal for the year is to stay on task no matter what the case is, I have a hard time listening for a long period of time .
My social goal for the year is to be able to cooperate and talk to people new at the school. Making new friends is pretty cool. I remember when I was new last year I had an easy time making friends and fitting in.
for almost 2 months we spent our holiday in England doing everything there was to do . We stayed in London,Devon and worcestire but a funny memory I had was going saling with my uncle Dave. We arrived at are sailing point, (I forgot what it was called but apparently it was the 2nd biggest harbor in the world) then we cast of the anchor and set of moving out of the harbor. As we were moving out we passed some boats from the navy which I found very cool. We followed the green and oronge boys to get into free waters then we sighted a huge boat known as the condor ferrie. It job was to get people from one side of the harbor to the other. We saw it a few times on that trip. We stopped for lunch just beside a huge cliff where no boats were and had a peacful lunch. Just as we were going to turn back we saw a huge fog forming where we were heading. We went right in to the fog then we saw the depth gauge getting higher and higher all the way up to 1 meter so we turned off the enginges and managed to get into deeper water then out of the fog we heard the foghorn of the ferry. in a moment of chaos and havoc we just about managed to avoid it. We got back to the harbor and as we landed we saw the condor ferry coming out of the fog. It coundln't go through the fog and from then on we called it chicken condor.
Five adjectives to describe me are
. Respectful
. helpful
. fun
. feirce(sometimes)
. worried
